On June 30, 2016,the closing ceremony of principals and primary school teachers workshop was held at the Hall of SMK 1 Nabire. This workshop was officially closed by the Expert Staff of Regent of Nabire District in Development Sector, Mr. Beni Rubber S.IP. MM. He was accompanied by the Chairman of USC-ID, Mr. Christopher Dann and Mr. Tony Richardson. Education Office of Nabire District was represented by Mr. Mesak Mofu, S.Pd, M.Pd.

Before the workshop was closed, the Expert Staff in Law, Ministry of Education and Culture Republic of Indonesia, Ms. Chatarina Girsang, socialized the information about the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture (PERMENDIKBUD) No. 082 2015 regarding the Prevention of Violence at the Environmental Education Unit and PERMENDIKBUD No. 18 2016 regarding the Introduction of the School Environment that abolish School Orientation activities for new students.

The workshop was attended by 122 participants including 87 primary school teachers and 35 principals from Nabire, Deiyai, Dogiyai, and Intan Jaya districts. All participants received a training certificate from the committee (DFAT, Education Officeof Papua Province, University of the Sunshine Coast, and The Willi Toisuta and Associates).

On that occasion, USAID also symbolically distributed some textbooks to the teachers and principals of primary schools who participated in the workshop.

This program is a partnership between the Provincial Government and District / City in Papua, The University of The Sunshine Coast (USC), The Willi Toisuta and Associates (WTA) and supported by the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
